A late unexpected problem prevents GDL Racing from claiming class victory in 24H Spa-Francorchamps
GDL Racing took a leading role in 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps during the last weekend. It was a thrilling and exciting edition of the Belgian race for the Gianluca De Lorenzi’s team, that was next to claim the Group National win, after leading since the start to a couple of hours before end.
To share the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo car (not the Evo version, as wanted by the 24H rules) were youngster female racer Sara Bovy, particularly acclaimed by fans on her home track, Italian Beniamino Caccia, Argentiean Andrés Josephsohn and Indonesian Andrew Haryanto.
Despite a difficult race, also due to a not confortable BoP for the “Super Trofeo” car that had 70 kilos more than the normal Sant’Agata Bolognese’s racecar – as SRO imposed – the GDL Racing crew took the lead in the first hour to survive all the difficulties, including the night stint when a lot of incidents occurred. The next commitment for the De Lorenzi’s squad will be in Spa again, during the 12H Creventic scheduled for 13/14 October, when GDL Racing will field an Audi TCR car. 12 Hours of Abu Dhabi (15 December) and 24 Hours of Dubai (12 January) will follow.
