Bashar Mardini claims two second places in Misano
Bashar Mardini completed another strong weekend in Misano, that held the fourth of seven Carrera Cup Italia double rounds, as he finished second twice in the Michelin Cup class. Mardini extended to seven the number of his podium finishes this season, including the four victories claimed in Imola and Monza.
With this result the GDL Racing’s racer – who made this year his debut in the Porsche 991 GT3 Cup one-make series – confirmed his class lead ahead of Nicolò Mercatali, looking forward the second part of the championship.
After a difficult qualifying in Misano, when he set the fourth quickest lap of his class, the Emirate’s driver was a frontrunner in both races and scored more important points.
The next Carrera Cup Italia round will be in Mugello, over the weekend of 14th, 15th July.
