Breukers-Jefferies claim podium finish at Silverstone in Race 1

The second of six Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europa rounds held last weekend at Silverstone, saw Rik Breukers and Axcil Jefferies claiming another podium.

After taking a victory and a second place in the opening event at Monza, in England the GDL Racing duo scored P3 in Race 1, maintaining the same place of the grid after Breukers set the third quickest lap in Q1 in his Huracán Super Trofeo car.

In Race 2 after Jefferies started from the third row fighting for the top overall, Breukers paid a spin. Eventually Dutchman finished fourth taking more points and the second place in the PRO class standings with a only one point margin from lead.

With another GDL Racing car, Mario Cordoni took fourth twice in the AM class as well as a best overall P13 in Race 1.

After claiming at Monza a win and a second place in the Lamborghini Cup, Dilantha Malagamuwa moved to AM, and finished both the race in the middle of the group.

Poor luck on the home soil for British Steve Liquorish, forced to retire in Race 1 after a contact.

The next round of the European series will be held at the French track of Paul Ricard at the end of June. Meanwhile GDL Racing will come back to the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia for the second round at Buriram this coming weekend.
