
Breukers, Jefferies take the second place in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe standings
GDL Racing had a very fruitful weekend in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europa round at the Paul Ricard circuit, as well as in the Asian series in Suzuka.
In France, the Gianluca De Lorenzi’s team claimed the third position in the two races with Rik Breukers and Axcil Jefferies – who already won at Monza – moving up second in the PRO class standings, only nine points behind the lead with three double rounds still to be held.
British Steven Liquorish and Sri Lanka’s Dilantha Malagamuwa brought another GDL Racing car at the chequered flag in both the racees, taking a best six place in the AM class, the same in which Italian Mario Cordoni finished tenth twice.
The other Italian Roberto Rayneri, driving a GDL Racing Mercedes in the 1000 Km support event of the Blancpain GT Sports Club finished 17th.
In the same weekend the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia came to the third seasonal round in Suzuka. On the Japanese track Nigel Farmer, who raced alone after having shared the wheel with Breukers in the first races of the year, claimed a second finish spot. That let the Hong Kong’s driver to confirm the PRO-AM class lead.
The next round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europa will be held at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit late next July, in the same week of the famous 24 Hours. The Asian series will resume at Fuji, in Japan, on 19th-20th August.
