GDL CLINCHES DOUBLE TITLE IN THE LAMBORGHINI SUPER TROFEO MIDDLE EAST
GDL Middle East started the 2017 season clinching a double title. In Dubai the Gianluca De Lorenzi’s team completed a perfect weekend in the third and last round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East, claiming two victories with Dutchman Rik Breukers (18) and 22-year-old Zimbawe’s Axcil Jefferies – twice on pole position – who dominated among the PROs with five wins in a row.
Moreover Indonesian Andrew Haryanto finished fourth overall in Race 1, clinching his third victory in the AM class and the class title, as well as claiming the second position in Race 2.
Great job also for Italian Costantino Bertuzzi and Hong Kong’s Nigel Farmer – who already won both the races at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi – that finished second in Race 1 and first in Race 2 (5th overall) in Dubai for X-One Racing Team supported by GDL Racing, as well as second in the championship.
With these results GDL confirms once more itself as a top team of the one-make series, after having claimed the PRO-AM second place with Breukers in the European series and in the World Final at Valencia last year.
