GDL lines up four cars in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo at Monza

GDL Racing returns to the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europa entering four cars in the first round this coming weekend at Monza. After having won the PRO and AM titles of the Middle East series last March and claimed one overall and two PRO-AM wins in the Asian championship two weeks ago, the Gianluca De Lorenzi’s squad is set to renew the challenge in the one-make series that celebrates this year its ninth edition.

On the Italian track, the GDL Racing will line up in the PRO class a Huracán racecar for 18-year-old Dutch Rik Breukers – 2016 PRO-AM runnerup and second at the Valencia’s World Finals – who will partner Zimbawe’s Axcil Jefferies, forming the same pair that claimed the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East title.

In the PRO-AM class, the team led by De Lorenzi will be represented by Colombian William Barbosa – at his second season in the series – and Briton Steve Liquorish, who made his debut with GDL Racing in the Middle East championship.

GDL will also line up two cars in the AM class, one of them shared by Argentinian Andrés Josephsohn and Sri Lanka’s Dilantha Malagamuwa. Italian Mario Cordoni will race the last Huracán Super Trofeo.

The 2017 calendar will consists of six double rounds, including Silverstone, Paul Ricard, Spa-Francorchamps, Nürburgring and Imola, whith two-50 minute races each weekend.
