GDL Racing launches 24H Nürburgring challenge

GDL Racing has finalised its participation in the 2015 edition of the 24H Nürburgring scheduled for this weekend (from 14th to 17th May). The Gianluca De Lorenzi-led team will enter the famous Nordshleife race by lining up a Porsche 991 in the SP7 class for Swiss Nicola Bravetti, Australian Rib Thomson, Italian Andrea Perlini and the local driver Olgher Fuchs.

GDL Racing is the only San Marino based squad to take the part in the “Green Hell” race that will see more than 315 cars at the start. Bravetti and Thomson already raced for the GDL Racing team last year finishing 59th and 14th in their class.

The legendary 24H Nürburgring event will again be racing around the 25-kilometre long combination of Nordschleife and Grand Prix Circuit and will see at the start some of the most prestigious endurance drivers and teams.

“After an unlucky 2014 edition, this year we’ll be aiming to show well in the SP7 class as we are confidend of the driver’s abilty to challenge for the win” – said team principal Gianluca De Lorenzi.

The ADAC Zurich 24H event will start on Thursday with the night qualifying session and continue on Friday with the Q2 and the top-30 qualifying. The race will start on Saturday at 4 pm.
