GDL Racing scores a double podium at its Asian GT debut

GDL Racing Team Asia scored a double podium last weekend in the Asian GT debut at 3H Sepang. The Gianluca De Lorenzi’s team showed well at its very first appearance in the extra-European championship, lining up two cars.

In Malaysia local crew Liam Wee Keong and Melvin Moh set the best quick lap in the qualifying and claimed a second place in the GTM class – open to the Cup spec racecars – sharing a Porsche 991.

Great job also for other Malaysian Liam Lim Keong and Hong Kong’s driver Nigel Farmer, both with an important experience in the endurance race, who finished second in the quilifying practice and claimed the third place in the same class at the wheel of a Porsche 997 Cup S.

A very pleasing result for GDL Racing Team Asia, expecially because of the difficult weather conditions in the humid and rain.

Next Asian round for the GDL Racing Team Asia is scheduled for mid-December at the Merdeka 12 Hours of Sepang.
