GDL Racing set for a full Gulf 12 Hours assault
Dubai, December 10th 2018 – Three cars, nine drivers from eight different countries: that is the GDL Racing international featin the eight edition of Gulf 12 Hours scheduled from 13rd to 15th December at the Yas Marina circuit, in Abu Dhabi.
With several years of experience in the most important endurance races, the team led by Gianluca De Lorenzi – having its middle east headquarter in Dubai – is set for the Emirates challenge.
After having clinched a double podium in 2017, GDL Racing aims to the victory with Bashar Mardini – who claimed the Michelin Cup title in the Carrera Cup Italia, experienced Austrian driver Christopher Zöchling and local racer Mohammed Hussein, who made his debut last week in Dubai, piloting a Porsche in the GSCC Championship. GDL Racing will also enter two Lamborghini HuracánSuper Trofeos. One of them for Gabriele Murroni, who is a runner up in the Lamborghini Cup class of the Asian one-make series. The Monegasque will share the duty with Italian Roberto Rayneri and American Jim Michaelian, who finished third in their class last year.
A second “Lambo” car will be shared by the other Italian Mario Cordoni and Briton Steven Liquorish – in 2017 second among the Huracán Super Trofeos), together with fast Greek Dimitri Deverikos, who has a number of experiences with the same car. Click this site.
With a grid record of more than 30 cars, the 2018 edition of Gulf 12 Hours will kick off on Thursday with the first free practice, followed on Friday morning by two more sessions. On the same day, from 15.45 pm local time, the qualifying will start. Finallly the race is scheduled for Saturday morning at 9.00 and will be splitted in two parts, with the finish line at 23.45 pm.
