
GDL Racing set for a new epic challenge in the Carrera Cup
GDL Racing is set for a historic comeback to Carrera Cup Italy as it will be fielding two cars this coming weekend in the 2018 seasonal opener in Imola.
The Gianluca De Lorenzi’s team, that claimed the first victory in the one-make series in 2007, faces a new epic challenge in the series with Bashar Mardini.
The 36-year-old Emirate’s driver, who has a huge experience in GT and classic endurace races like 24H Dubai and Gulf 12 Hours with GDL Racing, makes his debut in the Carrera Cup Italy aiming to the Michelin Cup top spot.
Mardini is thrilled to start an exciting challenge in a high level series, with more than 20 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars. Meanwhile De Lorenzi will be making his comeback too.

Free practice get underway this afternoon. Two 30-minute qualifying sessions are scheduled for tomorrow, since 10.50 am. The first of two 28-minute plus one lap races starts at 17.45 pm. Race 2 is scheduled for Sunday at 11.05 am.
