GDL Racing set to double at Bologna and in UAE
GDL Racing makes its comeback this weekend, when it will take part in two different events in Europe and UAE. Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 December the Gianluca De Lorenzi’s squad will enter the Nascar Whelen Euro Series at the Bologna Motor Show where it will line-up three cars.
At the same time, the San Marino-based team will make its debut in the NGK GT Series – the Emirates’ series for GT and Touring Cars – at the Dubai circuit.
In the Italian Motor Show, former Alfa Romeo official driver Maurizio Possumato will drive a car. Another one will be shared by the rally driver Luca Quaderno and Renzo Calcinati, the latter taking part only in the Sunday race. A third car will be shared by Cesare Guazzini, several times winner of the 25H Fun Cup at Spa-Francorchamps, and experienced Edo Varini, who already knows well the Area 48 track.
On the other side of the world, the GDL Racing will line-up four cars in the UAE championship (two 20 minutes race). Singaporean Koeng Wee Lim will drive a Porsche 991, while local Bashar Mardini and Hong Kong’s Nigel Farmer will drive two Porsche 997. Last but not least, the other Singaporean Koeng Liam Lee will drive the Mercedes AMG SLS GT3.
