GDL Racing set to penultimate round of Carrera Cup Italia

After an almost two-month break, GDL Racing returns to the Carrera Cup Italia championship, as the one-make series heads this weekend to the Vallelunga circuit for the sixth and penultimate round of the season, before the grand finale in Imola next October.

At the Roman track Gianluca De Lorenzi’s team plays its aces, fielding two cars. One of them again for Bashar Mardini, who extended his Michelin Cup class lead in the previous race at Mugello, when reached a five-win record, including the other victories claimed at Imola and Monza. The Emirates’ driver has now 26 points over the second placed Alex De Giacomi.

Lights also on Enrico Fulgenzi, who celebrated his first appearance with GDL Racing at Mugello taking the Super Pole in the Saturday’s qualifying, although he was involved in a contact during the first race and finished in seventh the second race completing a great recovery from the back of the grid. Considering next weekend, free practices will get underway on Friday. Qualifying are scheduled for Saturday, when Race 1 will start at 16.15. Race 2 will start om Sunday at 12.20. Live streaming at carreracupitalia.it.
