
GDL Racing sweeps the 25H Spa-Francorchamps podium
GDL Racing celebrated its tenth participation in the 25H Spa-Francorchamps open to the Super beetle cars, by dominating the Italian class as well as claiming the 14th overall.
With 109 cars at the start, the Belgian race was extremely challenging. The Gianluca De Lorenzi’s squad confirmed as a top team, thanks to the experience and the well fit drivers. Starting from Beniamino Caccia, Lorenzo Bontempelli, Swissman Brian Lavio and Spaniards Puyol and Dimas de Andres, who finished close to the top 10 after completing 418 laps of one of the most fascinating European tracks.
To claim the second place in the class was the GDL Asia car driven by Bensi-Cassera-Haryanto-Lunari-Lunari, who took the 20th overall. Behind them finished the GDL Japan shared by Brian Lee, Hideto Yasuoka, Shing Hung, Steven Chan, Takeomi Mima and Chia Wen.
It let the De Lorenzi’s team to sweep the podium, claiming another historical result that pairs with the third overall position claimed in 2012, that is the best over result of an Italian team in that race.
