GDL Racing takes a double podium finish at the Spa 25 Hours
GDL Racing continues the tradition that will see the San Marino-based squad constantly among the top teams at the Spa-Francorchamps 25 Hours VW Fun Cup. For the seventh year in a row, the Gianluca De Lorenzi’s team finished last weekend the 2014 edition with all the three entered car achieving an important result with 92 at the start.
GDL Racing celebrated two podium finishes in the Italian teams’ class. Austrialian Malcolm and Brett Niall, Simon Piavanini and Danny Studderd claimed the second place.
The Hong Kong’s crew Bill O’Brien, Nigel Farmer, Kin Lee, Richi Pham and Scott Wryton shared the wheel of the “Sheriffo” car and finished third.
Poor luck for the third car shared by Gianluca De Lorenzi, Canadian Jean-Charles Perrin, Malaysian Koeng Liam and Singaporean Gerald Tan – the three latter at their first hughes ac experience in the race. Although a very good pace, some technical problems put them in fifth position.
