GDL Racing to field three cars at Nürburgring in the penultimate round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe

GDL Racing is set for the fifth and penultimate round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe at Nürburgring this coming weekend, 16th-17th September.

The team led by Gianluca De Lorenzi in Germany field three cars, one of these for Rik Breukers and Axcil Jefferies, who aim at the PRO class lead after they claimed their second victory of the season at Spa last July, taking the second place in the standings only two points behind the top spot. With seven podium finishes out of eight races, included a second and four third positions, Breukers and Jefferies will fight for scoring more points to head to the last round at Imola – that also hosts the 2017 World Final – as championship leaders.

At Nürburgring, GDL Racing enters another car for Mario Cordoni, who already raced for the De Lorenzi’s squad.

Sri Lanka’s Dilantha Malagamuwa, one of the front runners of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, will pair with the newcomer Paraguayas Ernesto Raul Benitez Cuenca, who makes his debut in the Sant’Agata Bolognese’s one-make series.

The two free practice sessions get underway on Friday. Qualifying is scheduled for Saturday morning, followed by the first of two 50-minute races that takes the start at 15.40. Light on for Race 2 on Sunday at 13.55.
