GDL Racing to line up a Lamborghini Super Trofeo in the first round of the Italian GT

Only one week after the debut at Monza in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europa, marked by the victory claimed in Race 1 with the 17-year-old Duth Rik Breukers, GDL Racing is set to come back to the same track for the first round of the Italian GT Championship.

The San Marino-based squad will join the new Super GT Cup class, lining up a Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo racecar for driver and team manager Gianluca De Lorenzi and Piero Necchi.

This new commitment for GDL Racing extends more the 2016 program in the most important international GT series.

The race of Monza inaugurates the six-round calendar. The Italian series will also stop at Imola, Misano, Mugello, Vallelunga, and Imola and Mugello again.

The Monza track will host two 48-minute plus one lap races, and will be live televised in Italy on Rai Sport channel and worldwide on the official wesbite www.acisportitalia.it. The first race will kick off on Saturday at 5.55pm, while the second is scheduled for Sunday at 11am. Tomorrow the light will be green with the two free practices, while the qualifying are also scheduled for Saturday.
