GDL Racing tops PRO-AM class in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia
GDL Racing dominates in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia. At Buriram the Gianluca De Lorenzi-led team celebrated last weekend a double podium in the second of six rounds of the series, as Dutchman Rik Breukers and Hong Kong’s driver Nigel Farmer claimed a victory and a second place in the PRO-AM class.
At the Chang International Circuit, the GDL Racing pairing finished second and sixth overall in the Saturday race and then claimed a victory in race two.
In the Sunday race, Farmer made a great recovery that let him to move up second in the class and sixth, before having a normal race contact with another car that put him on the back of the field.
Eventually Breukers completed a perfect second stint and finished fourth and first in PRO-AM, confirming the GDL Racing car competitiveness and once more showing his great potential.
In Thailand it was definitely an exciting weekend for Breukers/Farmer, who also took the championship PRO-AM leadership with a consistent margin on their rivals.
Breukers, who is already set for his 24H Le Mans debut in June, after having claimed the Middle East title with GDL Racing team, a victory and a second place at Monza in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe and the third at Silverstone, claimed again the honours of the podium.
Next round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia will be held at Suzuka, in Japan, in the same weekend of the European series round at Le Castellet.
