GDL Racing triumphs in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe opener

GDL Racing team wins in three continents. After having dominated the Middle East series early this year claiming the PRO win with Rik Breukers/Axcil Jefferies and the AM title with Andrew Haryanto, the squad led by Gianluca De Lorenzi made his debut in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia a few weeks ago taking another vitctory at Sepang with Breukers and Hong Kong’s Nigel Farmer.

From East to West, GDL Racing dominated the first of six 2017 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europa double rounds in the past weekend at Monza.

Starting from the pole position set by Rik Breukers. Eventually the 18-year-old Dutch topped the first part of Race 1, leaving the wheel to his team mate Axcil Jefferies who sealed the first seasonal victory.

To celebrate with the GDL Racing were also Andrés Josephsohn and Dilantha Malagamuwa, who won the Lamborghini Cup, taking another podium in Race 2 when they finished second. In Race 2 Breukers and Jefferies finished second too, taking the lead of the PRO championship standings.

Italian Mario Cordoni and Briton Steve Liquorish both claimed a best six position in the AM class.

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe will resume at Silverstone in Uk, on 14-15 May.
