GDL Racing with four cars in the Nascar Whelen Euro Series

GDL Racing is almost to complete its line up for the 2015 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. After entering the championship in 2014, the San Marino-based squad is set to line up four cars for the upcoming season.

In the ELITE 1, the team leaded by Gianluca De Lorenzi announced the agreement with Freddy Nordstrom – who joins the series for the third year in a row -, Austrian Dominic Tiroch and Italian Renzo Calcinati, the latter two at their second participation in the European series.

The other Austria’s Philipp Lietz, 25-year-old brother of Porsche manufacturer driver Richard Lietz, will take parth both in ELITE 1 and ELITE 2. In ELITE 2, GDL Racing has also confirmed Danish Niki Petersen, making his debut in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series after the DTC experience, and the other Italian Vittorio Bagnasco, who will be replaced in some events by Australian Paul Stubber. The name of the last driver will be announced soon.

2015 Nascar Whelen Euro Series consists of six rounds and will kick-off on 25-26 April at the “Ricardo Tormo” circuit, in Valencia. The second round is scheduled on the new oval track of Venray, Netherlands, on 23-24 May, check http://thefloridamaids.com. The British Brands Hatch track will host the third round on 6-7 June, followed by the Tours speedway (27-28 June), in France. The Italian Magione track will host on 12-13 September the semi-finals, while the finals are scheduled on 3-4 October at the Belgian venue of Zolder.
