GDL Racing’s Breukers/Farmer duo consolidates the PRO-AM lead in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia
GDL Racing had another great weekend in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, as Hong Kong’s driver Nigel Farmer and Dutch Rik Breukers (the latter still fighting for the European PRO title pairing with Axcil Jefferies) consolidated their PRO-AM class lead in the Shanghai round.
The duo of the Gianluca De Lorenzi’s team in China took a double class victory, claiming a sixth and fourth overall places, with Race 2 held with wet track after a start under the safety car that saw Breukers completing a perfect first stint after setting the second fastest time in qualifying, whilst Farmer confirmed to be in good shape driving in the second part.
Breukers and Farmer – who arrived in Shanghai with a 21-point advantage on the second placed – scored more important points and now edge on the verge of the title they aim to achieve in the last round of Imola, on mid November, in the same week of the Lamborghini World Final, the only not Asian round of the 2017 calendar.
